D. Hendrick, Monday, March 4, 1912. Almira Ferris was born at Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Sept. 22, 1824. Her mother was the daughter of Robert Morris, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and one of the most intimate friends and counsellors of George Washington. She was one of a family of thirteen children, twelve daughters and one son, of which only three daughters remain. She joined the Methodist church when a child of fourteen and has been a faithful member for nearly sixty years. In 1840 she was married to Daniel Hendrick of Saratoga Springs, N. Y., who preceded her to the better land twenty-six years ago. Eight children were born to this union, four boys and four girls, two of whom are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother, S. C. Hendrick of Lushton, Nebr. and H. D. Hendrick of Evansville, Wis. She has made her home with the latter for the past fifteen years. She leaves thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren to mourn the loss of a dear grandmother. Her remains will be taken to York county, Nebr. and laid at rest beside her husband. The funeral was held at the home on North Madison street Tuesday afternoon, and was in charge of Rev. Chas. E. Coon of the Methodist Church.
