Henning (nee Gerber) was born in Germany, November 11, 1847 and came to America in 1869, settled at first in Milford, Wis. She was married to Mr. William Henning in 1872, who preceded her in death June 7, last. They lived on a farm in the town of Center, Wis., for nearly twenty- seven years, and the last three years in Footville, here they were faithful members of the Evangelical church ever since their stay here. Mrs. Henning was visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kersten, when she took sick with pneumonia, and passed away after a few days illness in the above mentioned home, May 11, at the age of 67 years, 6 months. She leaves to mourn her departure, three sisters, Madams Eva Brendel of Watertown, Emma Stellmacher of Tangend, Oregon, Hanna Steffen of Chicago and one brother in Germany and many relatives and friends. The funeral services were held in the Center Evangelical church, May 15, and interment was made in the Center cemetery with Rev. G. E. Zellmer officiating.
