Horne - 1837 -1923 Robert L. Horne departed this life at the home of his son, Mr. Ed Horne, Thursday, July 5, the funeral being also held from the same place, Sunday, Rev. O. W. Smith in charge, the interment taking place at the Janesville cemetery. Mr. Horne was born at Charlottestown, Prince Edwards' Island, Nov. 4th, 1837. He came to the United States in 1856, settling on a farm near Janesville, where he was married May 1st, 1859, to Elizabeth Newett of Janesville, who departed this life October 27, 1906. To this union four children were born, Robert E., of Evansville, Laura Phillips, of Beloit, and Anna and Charles, the two latter having passed away several years ago. There are left behind seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, all but two of the grandchildren being married. The deceased was one of fourteen children, two brothers, Stephen, of Mineral Point, Samuel of San Diego, Cal., four sisters, Mrs. Helen Prouss, of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Emily Rossiter of Orfordville, Mrs. J. H. Partridge, Evansville, and Mrs. Fred Smith, Brodhead, all of whom are now alive.
