Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: George Henry HOWARD ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ GEORGE HENRY HOWARD 1860-1925 George Henry Howard, life long resident of Rock County passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wednesday afternoon after an illness of only six days. Mr. Howard leaves to mourn his death, three children, Mrs. W. D. Dougherty, and Grant Howard of Magnolia, and Mrs. Warren Porter of Cooksville. At the time of going to press funeral arrangements had not been completed. April 16, 1925, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin George Henry Howard Funeral services for G. H. Howard were held last Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. D. Dougherty at Magnolia at 1 p.m., and from Advent Christian Church at 2 p.m. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. R. Singleterry assisted by the Rev. William G. Bird of Arena. Mrs. Fannie Denison accompanied by Mrs. Gertrude Eager rendered the song service. Interment was made in the local cemetery. Mr. Howard was the son of George and Amelia Howard, being born September 16, 1860, on the farm that his son Grant now runs, the same being the old homestead. Mr. Howard has always been a resident of Rock County and was always an active worker for the county and township, and his services will be greatly missed by a score of friends as well as his two daughters and one son.
