Campbell, on Saturday morning, Feb. 24th, 1906. Harriet A. Hoxie was born in the town of Milton, Maine, Aug. 10, 1821. She was married to Charles Howard and came to this state in 1845, settling at Cooksville. In 1860, the family moved to Kansas, making the trip overland. At the breaking out of the war, they returned to this state; a few years later they again moved to Kansas where they resided until the death of Mr. Howard, Dec. 1, 1894. Then Mrs. Howard came to this city to reside with her daughter. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Howard; of that number only two are left to mourn the loss of mother, Mrs. Campbell of this city and Allen Howard, of Vernon, Kansas. Besides her daughter and son, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Geo. Backenstoe of this city. Mrs. Howard was a woman of excellent qualities and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Several weeks ago she fell and dislocated her hip, but through the weeks of confinement she was a most patient sufferer, and was cared for most tenderly by Mrs. Campbell and her daughter Pearl. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Campbell at 2:30 Monday afternoon, Rev. Jas. Churm officiating. Appropriate music was sweetly rendered by Mrs. Wilder and Miss Hallie Ames. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. March 3, 1906, The Badger, p. 1, col. 4. Evansville, Wi
