Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: William HYNE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ PIONEER RESIDENT CLAIMED BY DEATH William Hyne Succumbs in Home at 7 p.m. Tuesday After A Lingering Illness William Hyne, 65, nearly a life-long resident of Evansville, died in his home, 213 South Madison street at 7 p.m. Tuesday, following a lingering illness. He had been failing in health for the past four years. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the home with the Rev. Robert H. Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Hyne, a son of Charles and Nancy Hyne, was born May 8, 1864 on the old Hyne farm three miles west of the city on the county line. He was married to Mrs. Adella B. Wilson, of New York state, in Fremont, Nebr. Feb. 4, 1888 returning to Wisconsin a year later. Mr. Hyne was employed by the D. E. Wood Butter company here for 35 years retiring four years ago on account of poor health. He lived an eminently useful life and was a member of the Baptist church and the Modern Woodmen. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Janesville, Miss Edith Hyne at home; and Charles Hyne, New York City, one sister, Mrs. Lauren Jones, this city and one brother, Edward Hyne, this city. Mrs. Hyne died seven years ago. To them is extended the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community for Mr. Hyne was a loving father, a kind neighbor, and a patriotic citizen.
