JOHNSON PASSES AWAY Was One of Evansville's Most Respected Citizens Many friends were pained to learn of the death of Lyman H. Johnson, which occurred on Wednesday morning February 10. Mr. Johnson was born in Peru, Huron County, Ohio, on August 15, 1842, and at the age of eight came with his parents and sister to Wisconsin. The family located upon a farm near Brooklyn and later Mr. Johnson attended the private high school conducted by Prof. Searing in Union. He was married on March 1, 1866 to Mary Shaw, and five children were born to them, one dying in infancy. Those living are Fredus Johnson, Brooklyn, Wis.; Bernice M. Johnson, Hale Center, Texas; Harry C. Johnson, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Harold Garwood, Denver, Colo. While his children were young, his wife died and four years later, he was united in marriage with Ada Brigham, on October 29, 1891. From that time, Mr. Johnson has been a resident of Evansville, a well known and widely respected citizen. His personality will be remembered as distinguished by innate kindliness and by courage; his loyalty to his friends was constant and his love for his family was deep-seated. The religion which he believed, and the principle that dominated his life was the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. Great sympathy is felt for his wife, whose devotion has at all times been untiring, and for the family who mourn their loss. The funeral services will be held at the home on Friday morning at 10:30. The Rev. Gimore, pastor of the Unitarian church of Madison will conduct the service. February 11, 1915, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin
