She had lived many years near Evansville and was well known to many people here. She was born in Radnarshire England, May 17, 1837. She came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ingraham, when a small child. She was married to William Jones, also of England, and they made their home for a number of years on a farm about four miles southwest of Evansville. In later years her home, since her husband's death, has been in Oregon. Besides one brother and a host of friends, there are left five children to mourn her loss, Elmer, Boyd, Russel and Ray Jones, and Mrs. Gertrude Sorenson of Oregon. Mrs. Jones was visiting at the home of her niece, Mrs. John Tomlin on North Main Street when stricken. She called Mrs. Tomlin at three o'clock Sunday morning, but was unable to speak distinctly when Mrs. Tomlin reached her, and in a few minutes she had passed away. Her last words were: "Oh, Lord, have mercy on me." She was very kind to all, thinking of others before herself, ever helping any who were sick or in trouble. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in Oregon, in the Presbyterian church. June 6, 1912, Evansville Review, p. 4, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin
