Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Lauren JONES ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY LAUREN JONES Stricken suddenly three days previously, by apoplexy, from which he never recovered, Lauren Jones of this city passed away Sunday evening, October 19, in his 66th year. Funeral services were held at the home on Garfield Ave. Tuesday, interment being at Maple Hill cemetery, where he was buried with Masonic honors, Rev. O. W. Smith assisting, the deceased having been a member of both the Masons and the Eastern Star, as well as of the Modern Woodmen. Masonic brothers from Janesville, Albany and Brooklyn were in attendance at the funeral. He was married to Miss Annie Hyne of Union at Evansville, June 6, 1877, and they lived on their farm west of town until eight years ago, when they retired and moved to their present home on Garfield avenue. Two children were born to this union, a little daughter dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife, his son, Orville, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Mildred Main and Donald Jones; one sister, Mrs. Walter Williamson; four brothers, George of Montana, Walter of Albany; Arford and Charles of Evansville. Mrs. Myrta Andrews, Superior, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Rockwell and son of Baraboo were in attendance at the funeral as well as many friends from several other near-by towns.
