Joslyn suddenly departed this life Thursday morning Nov. 1, 1894 about 6 o'clock. Mr. Joslyn was born in Frankfort, N. Y., State, would have been sixty-six years of age had he lived to the 5th of next March. He came to Magnolia, Wis., in 1840. Was married to Miss Lizzie Burton of that place on Feb. 2d, 1862. Moved to this place twenty-one years ago where he has ever since resided and worked at his trade of carpenter. His sickness was a diseased heart from which he has suffered for many years, but has only been confined to the house for the past two weeks and even got up and dressed himself upon the morning of his death. He has been an honored faithful christian member of the Methodist church for many years. A kind husband to a very devoted wife, and father of two loving daughters, Gertrude M. and Hattie L. who now mourn their sad loss. Gertrude is the wife of Wm. Campbell and has a daughter. Hattie is the wife of Mr. F. H. Devendorf and has a son. Both men are highly respected and are in business in this city. The funeral is to be held at the M. E. church on Sunday next at 2 o'clock p.m. under the auspices of the Masonic lodge of which the deceased was a prominent member. November 2, 1894, Enterprise, p. 4, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin
