M. Knepper In the passing away of Mrs. A. M. Knepper another of the oldest of our people has been taken. Her death as announced in the last issue of the Review occurred a week ago Wednesday night and was caused by falling down stairs and breaking her neck. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Hiram Van Patten on Saturday afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends. The service was conducted by Mr. D. Quincy Grabill, pastor of the Congregational church and the interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. Miss Anna Maria Waters was born March 31, 1830, near Cincinnatti, Ohio, where she lived with her parents until grown. She was the ninth of twelve children and the last member of the family except a foster brother, Oscar Yaple, of Whittier, California. The family came to live on a farm near Beloit about sixty years ago. Here she became acquainted with Levi Knepper whom she soon after married. Mr. and Mrs. Knepper lived at her home for a few years and then bought a farm in the town of Porter where they established a comfortable home and lived until they moved to Evansville some twenty years ago. Here Mr. Knepper was employed for a time by Mr. Woodbury in his store, afterwards becoming a partner of Mr. Hatfield in the grocery business. During about forty years of happy married life, Mr. and Mrs. Knepper's latch strings were always out to numerous nieces and nephews who now mourn the loss of a dear aunt who will be greatly missed by them as well as by the many good friends her faithful life had won. Those from out of town present at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Robb, Leroy Robb, Mr. Edwin Waters and Mrs. Charles Waite of Afton; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hadley from Booklyn; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Earle, Mr. Thomas Earle and Mrs. J. Wallace Carmen of Janesville.
