Sarah M. Leonard

At one o'clock Sunday afternoon, May 23rd, Mrs. Sarah M. Leonard, widow of
the late Levi Leonard, died at her home in this city, after a lingering
illness, at the ripe old age of eighty-four years.

Mrs. Leonard had been a resident of Evansville for many years, and where
she was best known had the most friends, who will sincerely mourn her
passing.

She was married to Levi Leonard in 1858, at that time having been Mrs.
Sarah Jones. No children were born to her from the Leonard marriage, but
one son, Hon. Burr W. Jones, of Madison survives to mourn the loss of a
fond and loving mother.

The funeral was held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the late home,
Rev. Gilmore of Madison conducting the services and the interment was in
the Evansville cemetery.
