In 1837 moved to New York State and in 1844, with her husband, Leander Hoskins, came to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Union. Mr. Hoskins, died in 1855, and in March 1861 she married Mr. Lloyd, of Emerald Grove, Wis., with whom she lived until 1876 when he died and Mrs. Lloyd came to live in this place and the few past years of her life she made her home with her son, Mr. James Hoskins, where she died. Mrs. Lloyd's life was one of exemplary christian character, having united with the M. E. church in early years--1836, and she continued a faithful member until her death, always found at her post of duty both in her family and church relations. She lived as she died, a worthy christian woman. No effort was too important for her to attempt when good could be accomplished thereby. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Madison Street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and were attended by her old friends and neighbors and citizens who knew her only to love and loved her more as death bore her hence.
