Mrs. Mary Layton Lloyd was born in Wales, April 6, 1850, and when seven years old came with her parents to America, settling in Green Co., Wis. She was married on June 6, 1868 to Thomas Lloyd. For several years they resided near Albany, Green County, but for a number of years they have resided on a farm near this city. She had been in poor health for some time past, but during the night she was taken worse and did not survive, but a short time. She was a member of the M. E. Church, and was an earnest Christian, a devoted mother and a kind, and willing neighbor when assistance was needed. Funeral services were held at the residence on Monday afternoon, Rev. Webster Millar, officiating. A large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place in our cemetery. Besides a husband, the deceased leaves five children: Mrs. Belle Bryan, Mrs. May Miles, Miss Edna and a son Ray, of this vicinity, and Mrs. Bernice Patterson of Marshall, Minn.
