Juliaette Chapin Main was born in the Town of Union, June 2, 1853. She was
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Chapin. She received her education
at the district school in the vicinity of Brooklyn and at the Evansville
Seminary.

In later life she was married to Edwin Dakin Chapin of Oregon. Five
children were born to them. Mrs. Celia Rhodes, Florence, deceased, Mrs.
Idell Tusler, Oregon, Stanley D. Main, Madison and Lillian H. Main of
Pasadena, Cal.

She is survived by her children, three sisters, Mrs. Anna Burgess,
Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Emma Whittier, California, Mrs. Lillian Martin of
Beloit and one brother, Fred Chapin, this city.

Funeral was held last Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, Rev. W.
A. Geske, officiating.
