Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Fred MAU ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY Fred Mau Mr. Fred Mau died at his home at Magnolia early Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 1913, after a lingering illness with cancer of the stomach. He leaves a widow and four children, Mrs. G. Poste of Brodhead, Wis., and Will, Francis and Lizzie, who lived at home, besides four brothers, Gustav, of California, Frank of Wyoming, Charles of Iowa and Herman of Spring Valley, Rock county, and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday morning at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. B. Arnold, and from the home the funeral party went to Brodhead where funeral services were held from the Methodist church at two o'clock, conducted by the German and English Methodist pastors of that place, assisted by Rev. E. B. Arnold of Magnolia. The M. W. A. of which he was a member, had charge of the service at the grave. Interment being in the Brodhead cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. Chas. Dohs, R. E. Acheson, Rob Fraser, August Post, Antone Cole and Wallace Andrew. The floral offerings were many and most beautiful showing the esteem and love shown him by loved ones and friends. He was a very kind father and a man of integrity and thrift, and will be missed much in the home and community. The bereaved have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
