Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Margaret MCCARTHY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Margaret McCarthy, who has been in very feeble health for a number of months passed away on Friday evening at the home of her son, Mr. John McCarthy. The deceased was among one of the early settlers and was held in high esteem by all who had the pleasure of making her acquaintance. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church since early childhood and her kind and chartiable disposition won for her a host of friends who shall always remember her kindness to them. She leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother, three sons, John of Porter, Charles and Dan of Madison, two daughters, Mrs. Driver of Janesville, Mrs. Clifford of Chicago and six granddaughters. Mrs. Berger and Ethel McCarthy of Madison, Margaret, Nellie, and Marie of Porter and one sister, Mrs. Delaney of Madison. Funeral services were held from St. Michael's church on Monday, conducted by Rev. J. E. Harlin and the remains were taken to Janesville for burial in the family lot in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
