Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Frank MONTGOMERY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Frank Adelbert Montgomery was born September 24, 1846 in Green County, Wisconsin and died December 8, 1920 at his farm home four and one half miles east of Evansville. To this farm he moved with his parents, Tracy and Paulina Montgomery, fifty-three years ago. In 1871 he married Mary C. O'Brien, who died Jun 12, 1889. Seven children were born to this union, six of whom survive, Owen, Miles City, Montana; Frank, Barron, Wisconsin; John, Evansville, Wisconsin, Mrs. J. R. Craig, Clinton, Illinois; Mrs. E. R. Adamson, Belleville, Wisconsin; and Irene Montgomery, Evansville. He leaves twelve grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ella Hendricks. Mr. Montgomery suffered a paralytic stroke in March, but from this he had partially recovered. He had been confined to his bed only five days with a cold which proved too strong for him to throw off. He had been a Mason for fifty-three years being a member of the Wacoma lodge Number 90, Cooksville, Wisconsin. He was the oldest member of this lodge at the time of his death. He had been master many times as well as one of its charter members. He had a way about him that readily made friends. His quick wit and unique personality marked him wherever he went and he will be missed in those places where he like to go. Funeral services will be held at the house Friday, December 10, Rev. Stephens, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. December 9, 1920, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin
