Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Merritt MOREHOUSE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, February 2007 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mr. Merritt Morehouse Mr. Merritt Morehouse died in a hotel at Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 1906, of heart failure, aged about 55 years. Mr. Morehouse arrived at the hotel about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, apparently in usual health; later he retired to his room, and about seven complained of feeling dizzy; and a few minutes later he expired. The deceased was an Evansville boy, being the son of Rev. and Mrs. C. M. Morehouse, the mother is still living and makes her home with her daughter in Chicago. Mr. Morehouse was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Spencer, and to this union was born one daughter, Edna, now Mrs. Durant of Chicago. For many years he has been a salesman for a hardware firm, and until recently has resided in Kansas City' his late home being in Chicago. The remains, accompaneid by the wife and daughter and her husband, the mother, Mrs. C. M. Morehouse, a sister, Mrs. Alice Guenther and her husband, all of Chicago, and the brother, Herbert Morehouse and wife of Denver, Col., arrived in this city on the noon train, and were taken to Maple Hill cemetery for interment.
