Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Thomas S. MORROW ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ The death of Thomas S. Morrow, which occurred this morning about 3 o'clock, sheds a gloom over the entire community. He had been sick but a few days. Friday morning last he complained of having taken cold. He grew worse and his illness developed into an inflammatory character and pneumonia, and despite the good care and medical attnedance, he yielded to death's messenger. Tommy, as he was familiarly called had many friends who held him in high esteem. Although an invalid for many years, the result of a stroke of paralysis, he seemed to enjoy life. Perhaps no one in the village has gathered about him the lasting respect of the entire community than did the deceased. All seemed to have a pleasant word for him, and he one in return. He will be missed from the community. Thomas S. Morrow was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was about 44 years of age, he has lived in Illinois, thence coming to Wisconsin, where he resided during his youth upon a farm east of town. His boyhood days were full of activity. Tommy possessed a good education and a well rounded christian character. he was a great reader, and well informed upon the current news of the day. None but the best literature would suit him. For the past five years he has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Hurlburt who have not ceased to care for him, and administer to his needs. The funeral services will be held from the house at 2 o'clock and from the F. W. Baptist church, of which he was a member at 2:30 Saturday, Rev. Steele officiating, assisted by Rev. J. S. Davis.
