Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Minnie Smith NORTH ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Albert North, Evansville Mrs. Albert North, 56, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday following an operation Saturday morning in the Wisconsin General hospital, Madison for gallstones. Mrs. North, formerly Miss Minnie Smith, was born August 25, 1871 in Monroe, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. S. M. Smith, where she grew to young womanhood and graduated from the Monroe high school and taught school. On September 11, 1895 she married Albert North and they settled near Evansville. The moved to Evansville in 1920. Mr. North was a member of the local Congregational church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Orrie Steele; one granddaughter, Janice Steele; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Baumgartner and Mrs. Antone Baumgartner, Monroe, and Mrs. C. M. Stinehcomb, Donnybrook, N. D.; one brother, Ralph H. Smith, Beloit. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the home and at 2 p.m. in the Congregational church, the Rev. Grant V.
