Norton Dies After Week's Illness Was Employed In Shops of Baker Mfg. Co. The death of William A. Norton occurred Friday evening about nine o'clock at his home on Church Street. Just a week ago that day he went to work in the morning, but was taken suddenly ill and returned home. The case was a difficult one from the first, so there was but little that could be done for him. William A. Norton was born in the town of Brooklyn, April 8, 1883, being the oldest of three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norton. With the exception of two years spent in the west he lived at the Brooklyn home until Sept. 1, 1909, when he married Miss Edna Christina Hansen of the village of Brooklyn. Since that time their home has been in Evansville. Mr. Norton was in the employ of the Baker Mfg. Co. where he had worked for nine years. He was a good workman and was respected and highly thought of by all the boys of the shops. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Congregational church conducted by the Rev. D. Quincy Grabill. The church was filled by the many friends, the center section being reserved for the men from the shops. The interment was in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Norton is survived by his wife and two children, Fola, Ethna, aged three years, and the baby girl, eight months old. His parents and one brother were present at the funeral, the other brothers being in Wyoming. December 11, 1913, Evansville Review, p. 1, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin
