July 30th, 1842, he married Miss Lucy A. Root. In the spring of 1849 he emigrated to Wisconsin and settled on the farm in the town of Center in this county, on which he remained until called home, which event happened April 26th 1883. He will be buried on Lord's Day the 29th, at the Disciple Cemetery in Center. His funeral will be preached by Elder Milton Wells, at the church at 11 o'clock a.m. The friends are respectfully invited to attend. The church has lost a good brother, one of the charter members nearly 30 years ago. The community has lost an esteemed and highly appreciated citizen. He leaves to mourn his loss a widow and two sons, Elmer and George, two estimable citizens of the county of Rock, and a host of acquaintances who often have listened to his admonitions. Thus in the past two months, Center has lost four of her pioneer citizens, viz: Jonathan Cory, S. W. Fisher, Lo-ami P. Stannard and James Parmley.
