Ferris Patchin, wife of William W. Patchin, died in Magnolia, May 11, 1897; her health failed in 1890. Mrs. Patchin was born in Brockport, N. Y., November 11, 1830. She came to Wisconsin in 1857 and was married in october of the next year to William W. Patchin, in Johnstown. She was the mother of six children, all of whom, with her husband, survive her. It was a matter of great comfort to her that all her children professed faith in Christ and are members of a church. All the children save one daughter are married. Mrs. Patchin professed faith in Christ early in life in New York State. She joined the M. E. church. After coming to Wisconsin she united with the Free Baptist church. The funeral was from the residence in Magnolia, May 13, and was conducted by Rev. M. C. Miner. The remains were interred in the Evansville cemetery.
