Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: A. L. PATTERSON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY Died: At his home in this city on Thursday, July 24, 1902, Mr. A. L. Patterson, aged sixty years. The announcement of the death of our citizen came to our community as a severe shock. Mr. Patterson retired the evening of the twenty-third at the usual time in good health. His family thinking he was sleeping a little later than usual did not call him until breakfast was ready. Not until Mrs. Patterson went into his room did they suspect that all was not well. A physician was immediately summoned and stated that life had been extinct probably three hours. Mr. Patterson has spent his mature years on his farm on Jug Prairie, and at his town home. He has been a very successful man, but his material prosperity weighs very lightly in the scales against his success as a neighbor and citizen. One who lived near him a life time, said "I can recall no instance where I ever heard of Mr. Patterson being criticised.: His devotion to his family was a ruling passion. He leaves a wife and four sons, Marvin, Wm. G., Lyle and Leon. The funeral will occur Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the residence.
