Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Elnora PATTERSON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Elnora Patterson died at her home on East Main Street, last Saturday noon, April 27, 1907. But few realized the seriousness of her condition; she was taken ill about five weeks ago and last Friday an operation for gallstones was performed and she seemed to be on the road to recovery; but shortly before noon on Saturday she was taken very much worse and did not survive an hour. Elnora Weaver was born in the town of Union, Rock County, Wis., March 20, 1859. She was married to Mr. L. A. Patterson, Jan. 1, 1880. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson lived in the town of Brooklyn, Green County until 1901, when they moved to Evansville, where they have since resided. She leaves a husband, an aged father and two brothers to mourn the loss that death has caused. Mrs. Patterson was a faithful member of the Methodist church and a sister tenderly loved. She will be missed from the working force in the church. She was also a member of the local Woman's Relief Corps and has held the office of chaplain for several years, and was one of the most active members of that order. Hers was a character beautiful and noble, and the purity and unselfishness of her life was felt not only in the home circle but by all with whom she came in contact. To the bereaved husband and relatives, a large circle of sorrowing friends extend their deepest sympathy. The funeral services were held from the late home at one o'clock this Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. T. W. North officiating. The Woman's Relief Corps attended in a body. Her remains were buried in the Stone School House cemetery, on Jug Prairie. May 3, 1907, Enterprise, p. 3, col. 6, Evansville, Wisconsin
