Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: George RASMUSSEN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ GEORGE RASMUSSEN George Rasmussen was born in Denmark on January 20, 1873. He came to this country in 1890 and for two years worked in various parts in southern Wisconsin. In 1892 he returned to Denmark for an extended visit but finally returned and settled not far from Evansville. In 1896 he was married to Mamie Larson, of Rutland, Wisconsin. By their marriage there are five children, all of whom, with the wife, still survive. The children are: Charles, Raymond, Wayne, Lillian and Mable. His father is dead, but his aged mother is still living in Denmark. He has three brothers: Alexander, in Canada; Emmanuel, living in Beloit, and Edward, living just east of Evansville. Also there are two sisters living in Denmark. His death came as a shock to the community, it being so quick. He was working and in good health but a few days before his death. He will be greatly missed by a large circle of neighbors and friends. Funeral service was held at the home on Tuesday afternoon and interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Rev. Hugh A. Misdall, of this city, officiating. July 25, 1918, Evansville Review, p. 1, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin
