Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Bert R. Reese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Reese of this city, died at the home of his father, Saturday, April 5th, after a long and lingering illness. Mr. Reese was the youngest of eleven children, being born in the Town of Union, January 7, 1888. February 27, 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Marie Williams, of the town of Albany. To this union three children were born, George, aged eight, Arlene, aged five, and Morris, aged eight months; all who survive him. The funeral services were held at the home of his parents and were conducted by the Rev. Stephens, of the Baptist Church, at two o'clock Monday afternoon. The pall bearers were four of his brothers and two brothers-in-law, consisting of W. E. Reese, and Watson Reese, of Evansville; Boyd Reese, of Marshall, Minnesota; Spencer Reese, of Neilsville, Wisconsin, R. L. Finn and C. A. Newman, of Juda. Interment being made in the Maple Hill cemetery. Besides his parents, wife and three children there are left to mourn his loss four brothers, W. E. Reese and Watson Reese, of Evansville; Boyd Reese, of Marshall, Minnesota; Spencer Reese, of Neilsville; and four sisters, Mrs. R. L. Finn and Mrs. Mary Brown, of Evansville; Miss C. A. Newman, of Juda, Wisconsin; and Mrs. A. A. Jordan, of Hawkeye, Iowa, all of which were present at the funeral. The deceased had lived most of his life in this city, only leaving a few years ago for New Mexico, where he went in search of health; later moving to Boulder, Colorado, where he lived until it was seen that he could no longer avoid the last sad summons, when he was brought home that he might die in his old home among his relatives and friends. he was a man much loved and respected by all who knew him and his death is a sad blow to his many relatives in this locality.
