In 1860 Mr. Robinson came to Wisconsin, and has since lived in the vicinity of Evansville except for some eleven years that he spent in Iowa and Illinois. Since 1878 he has resided in this city. September 12, 1869, Mr. Robinson was married to Miss Alice Waters by whom he is survived. Their son, LeRoy, lives at present on the old home farm east of town. For three years, Mr. Robinson has been in poor health and quite feeble, but was up and on the street not more than a week previous to his death. He leaves many friends among those who knew him. He was a quiet man of kindly disposition, a good neighbor and an industrious and upright citizen. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, rev. T. W. North preaching the sermon and conducting the burial services; the interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery. November 24, 1909, p. 1, Enterprise & Tribune, Evansville, Wisconsin Charles E. Robinson passed quietly away Saturday morning, aged 70 years. For several years Mr. Robinson has not been enjoying good health and for the past three years he has been gradually but surely failing, although with a determination at all time to succeed in a recovery, but success was not. A man of strong Yankee stock, endowed with the traits of New England loyalty, he always endeavored to lead an upright, useful and honorable life. Of a quiet and retiring disposition, he strove to make of his life the best he knew, and in it and by it he left a name for honesty of purpose and integrity unimpeachable. Mr. Robinson was born in Piscataquis county, Me., May 17, 1840. He came to this state in 1860 and nine years afterwards was united in marriage to Miss Alice Waters, who with his only son LeRoy survive him. Most of his time has been spent on a farm, but of late years, Evansville has been his home. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. T. W. North officiating, and interment being made in Maple Hill Cemetery. The pall bearers were Bert Dann, Charles Decker, Leo Campbell, Harry Lee, David Patchen and L. A. Baldwin.
