Rogers, an old and highly esteemed resident of Porter, died at his home Wednesday, January 21, 1923, of heart trouble. The funeral was held Friday, the services being conducted by Rev. O. W. Smith and the Masonic ceremonies being directed by R. M. Richmond. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Rogers was born in the town of Porter April 7, 1852. He was married April 1, 1874, to Emma Barnard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Barnard. To this marriage were born four children, Claude, of Evansville; Mrs. Joe Pierce, who died two years ago; La Monte of Evansville, and Florence who lives at home, besides these he leaves two half sisters and one half- brother. He will be greatly missed by the neighbors and friends among whom he has lived so many years and his memory will be held in loving remembrance by all.
