Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Samuel SHAVER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Samuel Llewellyn Shaver was born August 12th, 1889 in St. Charles, Kane County, Illinois. He came to Wisconsin when nine years of age to live with an aunt Mrs. Ephraim Hubbard. On June 8th, 1911, the deceased was married to Daisy Caroline Wall at Union, Wisconsin. To this union there was born one daughter Evalyn Gertrude. The family lived in this community until a year and a half ago when they moved to Los Angeles, California. On February 2nd of this year while at his work, Mrs. Shaver was struck by a big truck and severely injured. He died Feb. 28th as a result of this injury. Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Mrs. Inez Swinehammer of Elbourn, Illinois. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8th at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist church. Rev. Stephens officiating. Mrs. H. F. Bartz of Union sang. Those from away who were present were: Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Munn and Marshall Davis of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Davis and son Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Hubbard of Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raemish and Mrs. Joe Jacobson of Dane; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Champney, Mrs. Lutz, and Mr. Osterheld of Stoughton; Harley Wall, of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Delber Smith, Mrs. Evaline Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. Parke Ames, of Brooklyn; Mrs. Wilbur Lefever of Wauwatosa.
