He was born in Center county, Pa., and when a boy moved to Venguga county, same state, near Oil City, where he grew up to manhood and married Miss Emily Allison, who now survives him. They were blessed with ten children, six boys and four girls, eight are living and grown to man and womanhood. Two boys dying in infancy. While in Pennsylvania, he engaged in agriculture, coal, and oil business. In 1867 he sold out his interests there and moved to Evansville near where he bought a farm and resided until 1889. He built a home on East Main Street where he resided until his death. In his family and as a friend and neighbor, his life bore record of an earnest christian. He was ever ready with cheerful words and kind deeds to those around him. No one will be missed more in the circle in which he moved than Uncle David. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon.
