Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Eva J. SPENCER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Eva J. Spencer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillian Pullen, Monday, Oct. 5, 1903, at 2 o'clock. Although the deceased has been ailing for some time her many friends were sadly shocked when it was announced Monday afternoon that she had quietly passed away from heart failure, as none expected her disease to prove fatal. Mrs. Spencer was the wife of Lewis Spencer who passed to the beyond several years ago. She leaves two sons, Lewis, Jr., and Arthur, who are successful farmers residing about two miles south of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Pullen, wife of Geo. L. Pullen and Daisy, who has long been an assitant in the Bank. The deceased has been too long known with her many virtues in this city for us to say anything which will be new to her many friends. For ourself we wish to say that she was one of the finest and most genial friends we ever knew, and her kind greetings will be greatly missed by us all who have known her so many long years as a true, devoted friend and kind neighbor, and with her relatives we mourn this sad and great loss to our city. The funeral will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Pullen, Thursdya afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The Tribune, October 6, 1903, p. 3, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin
