Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Louis Newton SPENCER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ LOUIS NEWTON SPENCER Louis Spencer 75 years old, was born September 29, 1850, in a house where the Eager library now stands. He spent his entire life in and near Evansville, living until 1910 on his farm south of town. Since that time he has resided in the home which he built on Grove Street in this city. Mr. Spencer had not been in the best of health for the past few months, but had been out daily, and last Sunday evening had attended the chautauqua. On Monday morning he had walked down town and home again, but complained of pains and at 9:30 he passed away, death being due to heart failure. His loving, social nature to relatives, friends and neighbors and his cheerful presence will be sadly missed by the whole community. Besides his wife, Mr. Spencer leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Frost, of Oak Park, Ill., and Mrs. Frank Francis, of Estes Park Colorado, two sisters, Mrs. George Pullen, and Miss Daisy Spencer, both of this city, one brother Arthur and one granddaughter, Mary Ann Frost. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, interment being made in Maple Hill cemetery. July 2, 1925, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin
