He was born in Ireland sixty-nine years ago and at the age of twenty-one was married to Miss Margaret Gambol, who passed to the better land about twenty-seven years ago. He leaves five daughters and three sons; Mrs. Mary McGaw, of Syene, the Misses Madge, Jennie, Ida and Tina, Messrs. William, Thomas and Robert. Funeral services were held at the late home Friday afternoon, Rev. W. M. Short officiating. The deceased has always been an honest, industrious man, and by his many deeds of kindness, won many friends who sympathize deeply with the bereaved children. October 4, 1902, The Badger, p. 1, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin Mr. William Steele passed quietly away on Wednesday evening, Oct. 1, 1902, at 11 o'clock of kidney trouble, aged sixty-nine years. The deceased was born in Ireland and came to New York City when twenty-one years of age, residing there a few years, and then came to Wisconsin, settling near Madison, where he lived until about fifteen years ago when he moved to this vicinity. He was married in Ireland to Miss Margaret Gambol, who preceded him to the better land about twenty-seven years ago. Three sons and five daughters are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father. The funeral services will be held at his late home, about one mile west of this city, on Friday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Short officiating. Interment in the cemetery in this city. October 2, 1902, Evansville Review, p. 1, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin Mr. Wm. Steele, aged 72 years, died at his home near this city of disease of the kidneys, Wednesday evening, Oct. 1, 1902. The deceased was born in Ireland and came to New York city when 21 years of age; from thence he came to Wisconsin, settling near Madison, where he resided until about 15 years ago when he moved upon a farm near this city. He was married in his native country to Margaret Gambol, who proceeded him to the promised land 27 years ago. Three sons and five daughters remain to mourn the sad loss of a kind, indulgent father. The funeral was held at the home this Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. W. M.
