Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Roxyllana STRONG ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Roxyllana Strong Roxyllana Barlow was born March 24th, 1839 at Kingston, Ohio, departed this life, April 10, 1922 In 1856 she was united in marriage to Nathan Curtis Strong of Ripon, Wisconsin who proceeded her to the world beyond March 16, 1907. To this union were born, one son, Mr. J. C. Strong of Dallas, Texas, and four daughters, Mrs. Frank Tooles, who died December 25, 1910, Mrs. Frank Hardesty, of Downy, Calif. Mrs. W. V. Lauraine of Houston, Texas and Mrs. E. M. Patterson of this city with whom she has made her home for the past fifteen years. Mrs. Strong was a member of the Baptist church having united with the church at Austin, Texas, about forty three years ago. A good mother, a loyal friend, a kindly neighbor, she lived the four score and three years vouchsafed to her and there quietly, peacefull, she fell asleep. The funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Patterson Wednesday afternoon, by the Rev. A. W. Stevens, Mr. Marc Webb singing two beautiful appropriate solos.
