Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Lusebe A. TULLAR ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Passed Quietly Away Mrs. M. M. Tullar Lusebe A. Gallup was born Jan. 12, 1821, at Naples, Gates Co., N. Y. Here the first seven years of her life were spent. She then removed with her parents to Alleghany County, Pa., and later to Crawford County, in the same state. She was married Jan. 13, 1842, to Miles M. Tullar, and in 1844 they removed to Wisconsin, locating for a few months, where the City of Evansville now stands. From there they went to Green County, living there for nine years, then coming to their present home, two and one half miles southwest of Evansville, where the remainder of her life was spent, and where she peacefully passed to her rest on Sept. 22, 1902. She was the mother of thirteen children, three dying in infancy. Her remaining children, seven sons and three daughters, with her husband, two sisters, and one brother were all with her in her last days. Her funeral was held at her late home, Wednesday forenoon, Rev. Wallace Short, officiating. It was a touching and beautiful sight to see her body borne to its last resting place by six of the seven sons, who had been cradled in her arms. A good friend and neighbor, a loving wife and mother, has gone to her reward, leaving an aching void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will be very precious to those left behind. Dear Mother, rest in peace. R. T. September 27, 1902, The Badger, p. 1, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin
