Van Wormer, died at her home on East Main street, Saturday, August 27, at 3 p.m. The deceased was born in the town of Porter, Jan. 17, 1864. When five years of age she moved with her parents to Monroe, where she grew to womanhood. On June 2nd, 1883, she was united in marriage to Alfred M. Van Wormer. To this union was born three children: Alfred, who died in infancy; Alice, now Mrs. Will D. Brown, and Anna, who resides at home. Besides her husband and two daughters, she leaves to mourn her loss, three sisters, Mrs. T. C. Grady, of Chelsea, S. D.; Mrs. B. Garry, of Yale, S. D.; Mrs. William Paden of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Will Halpen, of Argyle, and John Halpen, of Beloit; besides a large circle of friends. Mrs. Van Wormer's life was a beautiful and graceful one. She lived in peace with all, made much of the good she saw in others, and always stressed the things that made for good-will and social harmony. Her spirit was essentially a Christian spriit, for it expressed itself constantly in being noble and in being servicable. Her departure seemed indeed like "the close of a perfect day"--save that they are many who wish that the Day might have been longer. The funeral services were conducted at the home, on E. Main street, Monday at 2:30, Rev. A. W. Barnlund of the Methodist church conducting. The following relatives and friends from outside points were present at the funeral: Mrs. T. C. Grady, Chelsea, S.
