For the past ten years or more his strength has been gradually failing, becoming weaker until the end came this morning. He was born February 20, 1821 in Monroe county, Pennsylvania. There he spent his childhood together with two brothers and a sister. He was married Dec. 24, 1846 to Miss Sophia Butts, at Hamilton, Penn. To this union where born four children, two of them, Amos and Jonathan, together with one brother, Jonathan Weaver, Sr., survive him. In his childhood he became a member of the Lutheran church and was raised in that faith. In 1850, he came with his family to Wisconsin arriving in this state, May 28. They made their home at Butts Corners until 1864 when they moved to the farm about seven miles west of Evansville near the German church. Seventeen years ago he came to this city to live and to spend his declining years of life. He has been faithfully cared for at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Weaver. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Wever home on Main Street and interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
