Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Kate Greatsinger WELLS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Kate Greatsinger-Wells died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Mabie, Franklin street early Sunday morning, after many weeks of illness with a cancer. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1834, 86 years ago, where she lived for some time. She was married to Stephen Wells about 65 years ago but he preceeded her to the grave by many years. Mr. and Mrs. Wells had four children born to them, three of them, Stephen, Magnolia; Mrs. Will Mabie, Evansville and Mrs. A. C. Barton of Iowa survive, while another daughter died when she was a young woman. Besides these three children she leaves eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. John Hutchinson, of Dixon, Ill. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home at one-thirty and at the Baptist church at two o’clock, where she was a member. Interment in the Maple Hill cemetery.
