Winston 1853-1924 Fred H. Winston was born in Evansville, Wisconsin, July 16, 1853, departing this life, September 10, 1924. The funeral services will be held at the home of his sister, Mrs. V. A. Axtell, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. O. W. Smith in charge. November 14, 1900, Mr. Winston was married to Agnes Rye, of Johnstown. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Agnes, and a daughter, Mrs. H. Weygand, children by a former marriage, one son, Dr. Vern Winston having preceded him in death; two brothers, Frank H. of Fairview, New Mexico, George P. of Clermont, Florida, and a sister, Mrs. V. A. Axtell of this city. Also one granddaughter, Theresa Winston of Madison. The deceased was a man whom to know was to love. Genial and pleasant to all he met, his friends may be numbered by the score, not only among people of his own age, but among those of the younger generation, for love of children has been one of the strong features of his life and has endeared him to many who later grew up into mature men and women. In the passing of Mr. Winston there are many in Evansville who feel there has gone from them a dear friend whom they will surely miss.
