Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Lucy M. Wood was born in Randolph, Crawford Co., Penn., Sept. 2nd, 1839, and died in Magnolia, Rock Co., Wisconsin, Nov. 6th 1883. She was converted in 1856, baptized and united with the Congregational church at Monterey, Berkshier Co., Mass. Sept. 4th 1864. She came to Wisconsin Oct. 1, 1866, and was married to Joseph H. Wood at Brooklyn, Rock Co., Wis., August 25th 1877, Rev. Joseph J. Foot performing the ceremony. A bright future opened before them so full of promise to so worthy and faithfully loving hearts. Lucy was a faithful devoted christian lady and was a woman of more than ordinary ability and loved the church ardently and truly, possessing a gentle spirit, a loving nature and pleasing way; she was beloved by all and her consecrated life led her to delightful labor in the Sunday School and the social service of the church, wearied with ten weeks of suffering, at noon of Nov. 6th she passed peacefully away to her reward all through her period of sickness she uttered no word of complaint, but calmly gave assurance of perfect trust and resignation. She leaves a husband and two bright boys, two brothers and one sister to mourn their loss; one brother and the sister residing in North Adams, Mass., and the other brother in Europe. The community in which she lived greatly feel their loss. The funeral was largely attended; the interment took place in Brooklyn cemetery where she rests. G. H. A.
