This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nance Sampson 15 June 1999 ==================================================================== Mrs. Eva Brandstater Mrs. Eva Brandstater, age 93, and a resident of the Winter community for the past twenty years, passed away at her home there on Saturday, December 16, 1950, following a long illness. Mrs. Brandstater was born in Germany on January 23, 1857. In 1891 she and her husband came to this country, settling at Batavia, Ill., where they made their home until 1911, when they moved to Butternut, Wis., where they lived until 1930, when they came to the Winter community. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marie Martin of Winter, and three grandchildren. Her husband, Martin Brandstater, preceded her in death several years ago. The body was removed from the Lester Anderson Funeral Home on Sunday to the family residence in Winter, where funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. and from the Augustana Lutheran church in Winter at 2 o'clock, with Dr. O. W. Ohlson, pastor of the church, officiating. Internment took place in the family lot in the Winter cemetery. --Found in the Sawyer County Record and Hayward Republican, 21 December 1950.
