Mr. Kolar was born in Czechoslovakia on June 11, 1887. He came to Chicago, Ill., at the age of 25 years, and was employed in that city for many years as a refrigeration mechanic. Six years ago he and his wife came to Hayward, where they purchased a home on Smith Lake. Survivors are his wife, Barbara; four sisters and two brothers residing in Czechoslovakia. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 3 of Chicago. The remains lay in state at the Anderson Chapel until Saturday, when the body was shipped to Berwyn, Ill., where funeral services were held on Wednesday. Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Niles. --Found in the Sawyer County Record and Hayward Republican, 6 November 1952.
