Passes Suddenly. This community was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Reuben (nee Inez Haselhuhn) whom passed away in a hospital at Ashland on Sunday, February 9, 1941, after a brief illness at the age of 40 years, 10 months and 19 days. Mrs. Peterson had been in ill health for a number of years she appeared to be in good health until about two weeks ago she took suddenly ill and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment were all that medical aid could do for her was of no avail. Mrs. R. Peterson was born in Mason, Wisconsin, on April 30, 1900 and resided there until she was seven years of age when she came to this city with here parents, and continuously resided here until her demise. She was united in marriage to Reuben Peterson in 1916 and to this union three children were born: Mrs. Jean Jennings of Pensacola, Florida; Allen and Curtis of this city. She was numbered among the tolerant characters of time. She had a kindly disposition, always spoke well of others, and she was a willing assistant to relieve the distressed, a loving wife and mother. Her passing leaves a space hard to be filled, and the memory of her will be remembered by her many friends. She was an ardent worker in the congregational Church activities and she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She leaves to morn her passing: her husband; one daughter; two sons; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Berger of Ashland, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Aileen Montgomery of Pine Ridge, South Dakota; one brother, Homer Haselhuhn of this city; and two grandchildren; and unnumbered friends.
