Poznanska Mrs. Ludwika Poznanska, age 68, a resident of the Winter community, passed away on Sunday morning, October 26, 1952, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Poznanska was born in Poland in 1884 and came to this country when a young girl, settling in Boston, Mass. She was married in Boston to John Poznanska, who passed away in 1923. She then moved to Flint, Mich., where she became the housekeeper for Father Anthony Klamra. They came to Winter 29 years ago and she had served as his housekeeper during these years. The body lay in state at the Anderson Funeral Chapel until Wednesday, when the remains were taken to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winter, where rosary services were held that evening. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, with Father L. J. Lewandowski reciting the mass, assisted by Father Walter Kalandyk of Hayward. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery in Winter. --Found in the Sawyer County Record and Hayward Republican, 6 November 1952.
