Scheel Emil William Scheel of the Hauer community passed away at the home of his daughter in New Auburn, Wis., Tuesday, December 20, 1950, following a short illness. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, November 13, 1877. He came to the United States with his parents when a small child and settled in the Hauer community about 40 years ago. In 1903 he was united in marriage to Mary Henchel at South Leeds, Wis. He engaged in farming all his life. Surviving are his wife Mary of Hauer; seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crye, Portage, Wis.; Mrs. Helen Strand, Hauer; Mrs. Violet Rogers, Wichita Falls, Texas; Mrs. Gladys Sheffield, New Auburn, Wis.; Mrs. Lorraine Mann, Hauer; and Mrs. LaVerne Anderson, Chicago, Ill.; one son, Fred Scheel of Milwaukee; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Koerpel Funeral Home Saturday, December 23, 1950, at 2 p.m., wtih Rev. Robert Thrasher officiating.
