Wislen, Sr. passed away at his home at Spider Lake on Aug. 31, 1934 from a complication of diseases. Mr. Wislen was born in Manistee, Mich., March 6, 1871**, where he resided until 1900 when he came to this city. He was married to Miss Nellie Daniels of this city on July 16, 1907. To this union five children were born, one son and one daughter preceding him in death. In 1910 the family moved to Cloquet, Minn., where they resided until 1919 when they returned to Hayward and lived here three and one-half years. In 1923 Mr. Wislen moved his family to Ashland, Wis., where they resided until October, 1930 when they again returned to Hayward to make their home. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow; one son, William Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Hilding Nyman and Margaret; and one half brother in Hoquiam, Wash. He was baptized in the Salem Baptist Church of Ashland in March, 1938. He was of a Christian character, a kind and loving husband and father. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Milton McKinney home at Spider Lake, Rev. Barnes officiating. Special music was furnished by Mr. McKinney, Mrs. Flora Fryer, Mrs. Chas. Kistner and Mrs. Earl Stuart. Interment was made in Spider Lake Cemetary. **I believe William's date of birth in this obituary is incorrect. It should be March 6, 1860.
