Kathy Julkowski Kjulkowski@aol.com Saturday, June 27, 1998 Family history indicates a homestead was established in about 1848 at Greenbush, Sheboygan County, by John and Cyrenius Alley in advance of the move of their father, David Alley, and the remainder of the siblings. David died on the homestead in about 1883. As late as about 1924 the homestead remained in the Alley family; David's son Peter inherited the homestead upon his father's death. Peter remained there until his death in 1910. He passed the homestead to his sons, Bremer and Wyman Alley. It is believed that Bremer's sons were Merlton and Vernon. However, contact was lost with the residents of the homestead following Bremer's death. I am seeking any information regarding possible descendants of this county family. GLEISBERG), born about 1845 in Germany. His parents were John G. GLEZBERG/GLEISBERG, and Johanna R. HEINS. It is not known if John and Johanna came to America also, but we think that some of their other children did come with the son Frederich Herman. Frederich Herman GLEISBERG married to Jane [or Jantje] TIMMER in the town of Holland, Sheboygan County, on March 13, 1871. Jane's parents were John TIMMER and Albertina RUDOLPH who came to the USA in 1867 from Holland Netherland. John and Albertina TIMMER were residents of Sheboygan County for several years before John and the rest of the family moved to Seward County, Nebraska around 1878? It is believed that Albertina died in Sheboygan County, but we need a date for her death, (likely before 1878). Other children of John and Albertina TIMMER include: Christina born Oct 1848 in Holland, and Hiram born May 1855 in Holland. There are other marriage records in Sheboygan County for TIMMER's and RUDOLPH's, are these people relatives to mine listed here?? My great great grandfather Owen Charles White died 4 Jun 1890 and was buried 7 Jun 1890 in Sheboygan County. The information I have comes from an affadavit submitted by the minister of the church that Owen WHITE was buried from, testifying to the situation of his widow when she applied for his Civil War Pension of $12 a month. The affadavit states that Owen was buried from St. Patrick's church (is there only the one St. Patrick's--a Catholic church?) The name of the town was written Adell in one place and Ardell in another. Is there a town with one of those names in Sherman Township? It is thought that his widow Elizabeth Eames WHITE returned to Michigan after he died. I don't know how long they lived in Sheboygan or why they were there.
