Gifford E-mail: jangif@execpc.com Source: The Rib Lake Herald, December 17, 1943 WILLIAM ERNEST KRUEGER William Ernest Krueger was born on January 5th, 1871 in Germany. He died December 11th, 1943 at his home here at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 6 days. The deceased received his secular as well as his religious training and education in the land of his birth. In 1887 he came to this country, settling immediately in this community on a farm about one mile east of town. On May 26, 1983, he was united in marriage to Bertha Zieman. Six children were born to this union. Ever since he settled here Mr. Krueger has been affiliated with St. John's Lutheran church. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, and six children: Frieda, Mrs. Herbert Domrochs, Fond du Lac; Herbert, Sturgeon Bay; Anna, Mrs. Robert Otto, Milwaukee; Erwin, Rib Lake; William, Eldorado; and Elmer, Waukegan, illinois; as well as six grandchildren; one brother, Carl of Rib Lake; one sister, Mrs. Letto, Pipestone, Minnesota; and a large number of other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home at 1:30 and at St. John's Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. O.E. Hoffmann officiated. Mrs. Hoffmann and Concordia sang "Nearer My God to Then." Mrs. Hoffmann also sang a German selection, "Laszt mich gehen." Interment was at Lakeview cemetery.
